CIMIC ACTIVITY IN LEPOSAVIC

Pristina, Kosovo. KFOR Joint Regional Detachment North (JRD-N), thanks to the work and cooperation with KFOR JEC CIMIC, donated three respirators equipped with oxygen tank and masks, a generator with three lamps and a 500 liter capacity plastic water tank to the Fire Fighters Department in Leposaviq/Leposavić.

This donation, that represented the biggest KFOR CIMIC project for 2015, will enable the Fire Fighters Department of Leposaviq/Leposavić to set, in case of need, two different sub teams in order to deal with two fires at the same time. Furthermore, it also enormously improved the capacity of the Department to operate in low visibility conditions.

The donation was held during a ceremony organized in Leposaviq/Leposavić by the KFOR JRD-N Liaison Monitoring Team. To the event were present KFOR representatives, the Deputy Mayor, Mr. Miroslav Ivanovic, the KP Commander of Municipality, Mr. Dragan Stefanovic.

On the occasion, the Fire Brigade Commander, Mr. Rade Simic thanked KFOR for the important help given to the local population and emphasized how significant it was this donation for improving the service of the Fire Fighters Department.

KFOR continues to be deeply involved in fostering solidarity among local population.
