BULGARIAN PRESIDENT VISITS KFOR


Support until the normalization process will be irreversible

Pristina/Prishtinë, 22nd April 2015. KFOR Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, today met the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Rosen Plevneliev. The President paid a visit to KFOR Headquarters in Camp Film City in Pristina/Prishtinë.

During their office call, the President and COMKFOR, analysedthe security and socio-economic situation and the stabilizing role of KFOR in Kosovo.

Mr Plevneliev expressed his appreciation for what KFOR is doing and assured General Figliuolo that Bulgariawill continue to support KFOR until the normalization process in Kosovo will be irreversible. The President also confirmed the attention of Bulgaria on Kosovo’s future through the "western balkan 6 meeting” and assured that his Country will support Kosovo’s development in particular in the infrastructure and energy sectors.

General Figliuolo thanked the President for the outstanding professionalism of the Bulgarian service members. "KFOR is cooperating with Kosovo Institutions and International Community to strengthen peace and stability in Kosovo and in the whole region” said COMKFOR. "We are aware that is a crucial moment that’s why any decision on KFOR’s future will be condition based and not calendar driven”.

After the meeting Mr. Plevneliev met Bulgarian contingent in KFOR Headquarters.
