ALBANIAN MINISTER OF DEFENCE VISIT TO KFOR

Pristina, Kosovo. Today, the Minister of Defence of Albania, Ms Mimi Kodheli, visited Camp "Film City” NATO KFOR Headquarters. The Minister was welcomed by the KFOR Commander, Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta.

General Miglietta and Minister Kodheli discussed the latest developments in the current security situation in Kosovo, focusing the attention on the migration flows and the phenomenon of foreign fighters.

Albanian Minister of Defence highlighted the importance of KFOR’s presence as the main stakeholder able to preserve a safe and secure environment in Kosovo. The ability of KFOR to work in a constructive way and in close coordination with both the local and the International Organizations is a surplus value for the stability of the Balkan region.

The meeting was also an opportunity for General Miglietta to emphasize the high professionalism of the Albanian soldiers in accomplishing KFOR’s mandate, since Albania joined the NATO mission in 2010.

The Albanian service members are deployed with KFOR, mostly in KFOR HQ and in Joint Logistic Support Group.
