SWISS CHIEF ARMED FORCES JOINT STAFF VISITS KFOR


PRISTINA, Kosovo. The Swiss Chief Armed Forces Joint Staff Major-General Jean Marc HALTER, visited KFOR HQ and he met KFOR Commander, Major-General Salvatore FARINA, in Camp Film City, Pristina.

COM KFOR and the Swiss Chief Armed Forces Joint Staff discussed the general security and political situation and the latest development in Kosovo and in the Balkan area.

The main topics discussed during the meeting were the security situation in Kosovo, the debate about the ongoing Serbian parliamentary elections and the support to the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

During the meeting COM KFOR briefed Major-General Jean Marc HALTER on the security situation in KOSOVO, shedding light on the north, he also provided him with an assessment of the elections held on 23rd February in North Mitrovica and he underlined the work done by KFOR in close cooperation with all the local and international security organizations.

COM KFOR also pointed out the fruitful contributions of the Swiss troops to KFOR duty describing them as a depiction of professionalism and expertise.

Major-General Jean Marc HALTER confirmed the support of his country to KFOR efforts in order to ensure the accomplishment of the NATO mission and their support on progress for all the people of Kosovo.

On completion of his visit to KFOR HQ, Major-General Jean Marc HALTER took the opportunity to meet members of the Swiss Armed Forces participating in the mission in Kosovo.
