KFOR COMMANDER MET WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF CROATIA TO KOSOVO


5th December, 2014. Today KFOR Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, met with the Ambassador of Croatia to Kosovo, H.E. Zoran Vodopija, at the NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina/Prishtinë.  
 
General Figliuolo and H.E. Vodopija discussed many topics related to the overall security situation and recent developments in the area. The meeting was an opportunity for General Figliuolo to remark to the Ambassador the effectiveness of the Croatian contribution in ensuring a safe and secure environment and the freedom of movement in Kosovo according to UN resolution 1244.
 
During the meeting they also agreed on the importance of KFOR’s contribution, as the third responder, to support Kosovo Police, EULEX and all Local and International Organizations. Currently, about 40 Croatian troops are deployed across Kosovo. Croatian Armed Forces service-members are mainly deployed in Camp Bondsteel in Urosevac/Ferizaj with a Helicopter asset. Other Croatian soldiers are part of KFOR HQ Staff in Camp "Film City”.
 
The Ambassador finally stated that the Croatian Helicopter Asset will continue to support KFOR also when the new Rotary Wing Base will be set up in the vicinity of Slatina Airport.
