KFOR COMMANDER MET WITH THE ADVISOR TO KOSOVO INSTITUTIONS ON RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL HERITAGE

16th December 2014. Yesterday, KFOR Commander Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo had a meeting with H.E. Ambassador Dimitris A. Moschopoulos, Advisor to Kosovo Institutions on Religious and Cultural Heritage, at Camp "Film City” NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina/Prishtinë.

Ambassador Moschopoulos expressed his appreciation for KFOR´s commitment in guaranteeing the protection of high value historical and cultural sites in Kosovo. General Figliuolo remarked that KFOR will continue to support local institutions by maintaining the security of religious and cultural heritage sites.

These places are considered to be valuable for all the people of Kosovo and everyone, despite their ethnicity and religious beliefs, should respect and assist in their preservation. Furthermore, it was also emphasized how important they would be as positive spin-offs for the tourism and economy of the area.

H.E. Moschopoulos, who is currently serving as United Nations Development Programme Advisor to Kosovo Institutions on Religious and Cultural Heritage, previously served in the Greek diplomatic service as Head of the Greek Liaison Office in Pristina from 2008 to 2014.
