KFOR COMMANDER MET WITH JFC NAPLES DEPUTY COMMANDER


3rd December 2014. Deputy Commander Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Naples, Lieutenant General D. Michael DAY (Canada), was received by KFOR Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo at Camp "Film City” NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina/Prishtinë.

 General Day was briefed about the current security situation in Kosovo and KFOR´s main activities that were recently conducted in order to ensure the compliance with UN resolution 1244. Additionally, General Day had also a meeting with the NATO Liaison Advisory Team Director, General Peter Braunstein, at KFOR Headquarters.

 General Figliuolo underlined to General Day the positive and close cooperation that KFOR has with Kosovo Police, EULEX, and with all the other international and local organizations, in order to maintain a Safe and Secure Environment and Freedom of Movement throughout Kosovo.

 General Day visited the Austerlitz Bridge in Mitrovica/Mitrovice and also some KFOR camps and outposts located in the North of Kosovo. JFC-Naples Deputy Commander also paid a visit to Camp "Villaggio Italia” in Pec/Peja to meet with the KFOR service members deployed in Multinational Battle Group West. Afterwards he went to visit Decane Monastery where he met with Abbot Sava Janjic, who showed him the interior of the main Decani Monastery Church iconostasis.

 During his visit to Kosovo, Lieutenant General Day also had the opportunity to meet with the Deputy Head of Mission UNMIK, Jennifer Brush at UNMIK Headquarters in Pristina/Prishtinë.
