COM KFOR MET WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF AUSTRIA TO KOSOVO

October 11, 2014. Yesterday, KFOR Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, met with the Ambassador of Austria to Kosovo, HE Mr. Johann Brieger, at the Camp "Film City” NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina/Prishtina.

The main topics of the meeting, between General Figliuolo and Ambassador Brieger, have been the overall security situation in Kosovo and the Austrian contingent contribution to KFOR.

General Figliuolo expressed his appreciation for the contribution of the Austrian contingent, highlighted the importance of the support of the Austria contingent consisting of about 450 service members, mainly deployed in Pec/Peja, Prizren/Prizreni and Pristina/Prishtina as part of KFOR HQ staff.

Ambassador Brieger confirmed that Austria will continue to support KFOR mission and the political dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.

COM KFOR and the Austrian Ambassador agreed on the importance of the role of KFOR in contributing, as the third responder, to support Kosovo Police, EULEX and all local and international organizations and in maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement throughout Kosovo under the United Nations Security Council resolutions 1244.
