SACEUR VISITS KFOR

Supreme Allied Commander, Europe (SACEUR) General Philip M. BREEDLOVE visited HQ KFOR in Pristina and met with KFOR Commander Major General Salvatore FARINA on 27th and 28th November 2013.

SACEUR discussed the current security and political situation in Kosovo as well as the wider Balkans region and its latest developments. He had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Atifete JAHJAGA, Kosovo President, Mr. Hajredim KUCI, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Mr. Agim CEKU, Minister KSF.

General Philip M. Breedlove and COMKFOR underlined the importance of KFOR as 3rd security responder in supporting KP and EULEX to guarantee Freedom of Movement and a Safe and Secure Environment to all the people throughout Kosovo and the crucial role KFOR played in the success of the 03rd and 17th November elections.

SACEUR commended the outstanding cooperation between KFOR, EULEX and KP and their high level efforts to provide a Safe and Secure Environment and Freedom of Movement during the repeat elections on 17th November in the north of Kosovo.

SACEUR was highly satisfied in discussing with COMKFOR and HQ Staff about the main security issues related to the upcoming elections on 1st of December.

Before departing General Breedlove held a press conference in Slatina military airport where he expressed his appreciation to Major-General FARINA the Commander of Kosovo Forces, to the KFOR HQ staff, the KFOR command team and especially to the KFOR soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines from all the nations.
