HIGH LEVEL TALKS COM KFOR

In TIRANA Albania, on the 16th of October, and in line with the Military Technical Agreement (MTA), known as the Kumanovo Treaty, a High Level Meeting has held between Major General (MG) Salvatore FARINA, the Commander of KFOR (COMKOR) and Major General (MG) Xhemal GJUNKSHI the Albanian Chief of Defence (CHOD). For MG FARINA this was his second HLT meeting following his recent high level meeting in Belgrade.

On the same day COMKFOR also met with Ms. Mimi KHODELI the Albanian Minister of Defence, and Mr. Flamur NOKA, Albanian Minister of Interior.

COMKFOR and Albanian authorities appreciated the importance of the High Level Talks and emphasized the beneficial outcomes of the meeting.

They discussed, the cooperation between the Albanian Armed Force and KFOR and the importance of the contribution given by Albanian contingent to KFOR mission.

Moreover was stressed the importance of regional cooperation on security issues as a milestone in the stabilisation process of the Balkans area.

In this context was underlined the importance of dialogue among the actors and the role played by NATO in enhancing the security situation in the region.
