GERMAN MINISTER OF DEFENSE VISITS KFOR

PRISTINA, Kosovo. The German Minister of Defence, Mr. Thomas de Maiziere and four members of the German Parliament visited KFOR HQ and met KFOR Commander, Major-General Salvatore FARINA, in Camp Film City in Pristina.

COM KFOR, Major-General Salvatore FARINA and his Staff welcomed the German Minister of Defense and the distinguished guests and during a briefing in KFOR Headquarters, conducted by COM KFOR, discussed with them the current operations and the political situation in Kosovo.

COM KFOR stressed the importance of the municipal elections, a success of KFOR and a milestone for the local security organizations.

This important goal has been reached also thank to the significant support provided by the German contingent, comprising of 685 military personnel throughout KFOR, Major-General Salvatore FARINA thanked the Minister for the very important contribution to KFOR, commitment and professionalism of German troops.

The German Minister of Defence confirmed the support of his country to KFOR efforts in order to ensure the accomplishment of NATO mission and the support to progress for all the people of Kosovo.

On completion of his visit to KFOR HQ, the Minister Thomas de Maiziere and the other distinguished visitors shared Christmas and seasonal greetings with German soldiers.
