DR.PETER BLOMEYER AMBASSADOR OF FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY VISITS COM KFOR


PRISTINA, in Film City.On the 07th November 2013, the Kosovo Force Commander, Major-General Salvatore FARINA (COM KFOR), received a visit from the AMBASSADOR of FEDERAL REPUBLIC of GERMANY in KOSOVO, His Excellency Mr. Peter BLOMEYER.

During the meeting, COM KFOR thanked the ambassador for the outstanding contribution of the GERMAN contingent and staff to the KFOR mission and underlined the great professionalism of GERMANY troops and staff deployed in KOSOVO. The importance of the German troops was emphasized last Friday, 03 November, when they were very successfully deployed, along with other KFOR troops, to prevent an escalation of dissident activity in MITROVICA during the elections.

He also added that GERMANY is one of the most important actors among the contributors to the mission with a total of 112 personnel deployed.

The Ambassador of the F. R. of GERMANY expressed his satisfaction with the continued dialog between Pristina and Belgrade and the readiness of both parties to engage in advancing relations.

The Ambassador and COM KFOR discussed the importance of the current electoral process for the future of Kosovo and expressed their desire that the process will continue to be free and democratic.
