COM KFOR VISITS PRIME MINISTER OF REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO MR HASHIM THACI
PRISTINA, on the 08th November 2013, the Kosovo Force Commander, Major-General Salvatore FARINA (COM KFOR), met for the first time with Prime Minister of Republic of Kosovo Mr. Hashim THACI.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the importance of the ongoing electoral process and its crucial role in the political stability of the country and thus in creating an environment of social wellbeing.
Major General FARINA provided updates on the role of KFOR during the election period and assessed that the security operation that was coordinated with OSCE, KP and EULEX, is considered as a success all over Kosovo and also in the north.
COMKFOR stated that the 3rd November elections demonstrated the democratic maturity of citizen of Kosovo and the very positive performance of Kosovo Police all over Kosovo.
COM KFOR also mentioned that the isolated vandalistic acts which occurred in MITROVICA North were antidemocratic and should be condemned by all.
Both COM KFOR and Mr. THACI highly assessed the excellent cooperation so far between KFOR and the Kosovo institutions adding that this cooperation will only advance in the service of a secure environment for all the citizens of Kosovo. In addition Major General FARINA congratulated with the building professional capabilities reached by KSF while confirming NATO future commitment in supporting and advising them.
COM KFOR stressed that KFOR will continue to act impartially and in a determined way in the best Interest for all people of Kosovo, supporting the dialogue and implementation agreement between Belgrade and Pristina.
