The essential education, experience and skills requirements are:
Junior College-level education for 2 years following secondary education, including or followed by training in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation and translation.
Minimum 5 years of experience as linguist.
Good working knowledge/experience of MS Office products.
Good team working and communication skills.
In Part One, you should ensure you complete the sections confirming level of education and related training certification.
When completing the application form, please pay particular attention when completing Part Two. In this section, you are required to give information and examples of your work experience, which show that you have the essential requirements for the position.
Language Requirements: Applicants must possess the following language skills:
English and Serbian – Very Good (Full professional knowledge of a language enough for educated standard speech in any situation, with broad and precise vocabulary and appropriate to the subject in discussion. Drafting high level correspondence, technical documents with minimum need for review).
Please ensure you indicate language skills in Section 8 of Part One of the Application Form.
Candidates who are shortlisted for the position will be required to undertake an English Language Proficiency test as part of the selection process.

Information on KFOR and the Post
The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) is deployed in Kosovo to help maintain a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens, irrespective of their ethnic origin.
The mission of the Office of the Director of the Staff is to provide executive support to Chief Of Staff (COS) KFOR in all administrative and protocol matters pertaining to the Command Group and the staff.
The purpose of KFOR Linguistic Services is to enable HQ KFOR to communicate with the authorities and populations in its area of responsibility and to guarantee to the Commander and his staff that this communication is effective, reliable and comprehensible to all sides.
The work of Senior Interpreter/Translator consists of translation of materials of varying degrees of complexity or technical difficulty, without supervision, and also revision of materials translated by other parties and interpretation in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation from Serbian into English and vice-versa. The purpose is to enable effective and reliable communication with to the HQ in its area of responsibility, which is achieved through the competence of the linguist.
Information on Employment Conditions (this is provided as a guide only and is not meant to be an exhaustive list)
This position is a Local Civilian Hire post LCH-6. The post holder must be a national and/or legal resident of Kosovo and will work in HQ KFOR, Camp Film City, Pristina.
The basic salary for LCH-6 is 1,517.00 € per month.

2 days annual leave per calendar month
Up to 7 Special leave days per calendar year
Up to 11 Official/National holidays per calendar year.
Before any appointment is confirmed, the preferred candidate will be required to pass the KFOR Security Vetting and medical examination arranged by HQ KFOR certifying fitness to work.
The successful candidate will be offered a 12-month initial contract which may be converted into an indefinite duration contract subject to satisfactory performance and the continued operational need/funding for the position.
