DUTIES

A. POST CONTEXT

This Programme Assistant will support the NALT in its efforts to implement practical activities and programmes related to NATO's capacity building efforts by the NALT in Kosovo.
The incumbent will provide direct support to these activities within the NALT Chief of Staff's Office. This work will meet the NALT's objective of successfully implementing the programmes and activities by the NALT.

C. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  1. Implements/organizes activities such as conferences, workshops and seminars, to include analyzing the requirement, producing detailed proposals for events (for example, timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets) and implements the activities.

  2. Performs office tasks by organizing office operations and procedures, such as managing documentation, applying regulation, typing, answering telephone calls, takes and relays messages, providing basic information, scheduling appointments, implement/organize activities such as conferences, visits, escorting visitors, operating office machines, maintaining the filing system, ordering, supplies and sorting mail.

D. ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

▪ May be required to undertake operational deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and outside NATO's boundaries.

▪ Performs other related duties as assigned.

PART III – QUALIFICATION

A. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Professional Experience:

Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a national or international administrative role.

2. Education / Training:

Senior College degree in international relations, public administration, law, political science, social science or security or a related discipline.

3. Security Clearance:

Certificate of No Criminal Record

4. Language:

English: Very Good 

Albanian: Very Good 

Serbian: Fair

5. Standard Automated Data Processing (ADP) Knowledge:

Word processing: Intermediate knowledge 
Spreadsheets: Intermediate knowledge
Presentation: Intermediate knowledge
Database: Basic knowledge

B. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Professional Experience:

▪ Experience in an international and/or military environment.

• Advanced experience in office management, programme administration and implementation.

2. Education / Training:

▪ University degree in international relations, public administration, law, political science, social science or security or a related discipline.

3. Language:

English: Very Good 

Albanian: Very Good 

Serbian: Good

The work covers many similar and/or dissimilar tasks that require personal and intellectual skills within the same subject area. Although clear guidance and standard rules/regulations are available, some ability to analyze and solve problems is needed to deal with specific issues. Performance of duties indirectly impacts the objectives, efficiency, image and the financial resources of the HQ.
