Ltc. IT ARMY Gianpiero SIRIANNI
Ltc. Sirianni attended the Italian Army Military Academy in Modena, graduating in July 2000 with a commission in Signals Corp.
Since 2000, he attended the Junior Army Officer School in Turin, where he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2003. The same year he was assigned to the 33rd Electronic Warfare (EW) Regiment in Treviso, where he served as Platoon Leader, EW Company Commander and
Operations, Training and Information Office chief.
In 2013, after attending the 138th Basic Staff Course at the Italian Army War College, he was assigned to the Joint Intelligence Center in Rome as the Staff Officer. He served in the Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Section of the Land Intelligence Office, and since 2015 he also acted as
All-Sources analyst for the Libya desk.
In 2016 he attended the 19th Joint Staff Course in Rome. After that, in 2017 he was reassigned to the Joint Intelligence Center, serving as the Chief of the Signals Intelligence Section and Chief Analyst for the Libya desk within the Land Intelligence Office.
In late 2020 he was reassigned to the 33rd Electronic Warfare Regiment in Treviso as the Commander of the Battalion.
His awards and decorations include:
- Silver Cross for service seniority;
- Commemorative Cross for peace Operations;
- Several Italian, NATO and UN commemorative Medals for Operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Lebanon and Afghanistan;
- French Armed Forces Medal of Distinction;
He got a degree in Strategic Sciences at the University of Turin, a degree in Politics at the University of Trieste and a degree in Civil Protection's coordination activities at the University of Perugia. He also took a master's degree in Strategic Sciences at the Sapienza University in
Rome. Ltc. Sirianni is a native of Avellino (Southern Italy), married since 2013 and has two sons.
