LIEUTENANT COLONEL ANTONIO PORRECA
Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Porreca was born in Basilicata region on February 16th, 1983. In 2001 he joins the Italian Military Academy in Modena from which he graduates in 2006 as a 1st Lieutenant in the Infantry Corps.
In the same year he is assigned to the 82nd “Torino” Infantry Regiment, where he serves as deputy coy commander and coy commander. During this period he is deployed to Kosovo and Afghanistan. In 2014 he is assigned to the 80th “Roma” Infantry Regiment, where he serves as coy commander.
In 2016 he graduates from the Army Staff Course and in the same year he is assigned to the Joint Intelligence Centre in Rome, where he serves as Libya Chief Analyst. In the 2019 he attends the Joint Service Senior Staff College. Back to the Joint Intelligence Centre in Rome, he serves as Chief Analisys Branch of the Ground Intelligence Office.
Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, on the 16th of September 2022 he assumes command of the IMINT Battalion of the 41st IMINT Regiment.
During his career he attends several military courses, mainly concerning the intelligence branch:
- Intelligence Basic Course;
- Intelligence Advanced Course;
- Intelligence Analyst Course;
- Open Source Intelligence Course;
- Social Media Intelligence Course;
- Intelligence Defence Activities;
- NATO Alternative Analysis Course;
- NATO Counterinsurgency Intel Staff Course.
LTC Porreca graduated in Strategic Science at the University of Turin and obtained three university Masters: Crisis Management, Intelligence and Security, Strategic and Military International Studies. He speaks English and Spanish.
He is married with Mrs. Katia and has a son named Diego.
