On 7 March 2014, the official oath-taking ceremony for more than 200 new soldiers, out of which 13 are women, took place in the Alekso Demnievski Bauman Barracks at Veles. This ceremony marked the start of their training to become professional soldiers, which will last three months, in the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Individual Training Center. The recruits were saluted by the Defence Minister, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, who recalled the importance of the military profession, the importance of professionalism of the HN military, and also the fact that in the Army members of all ethnic communities are serving together, with the female gender well represented.
TRADOC Commander, Colonel Ljupcho Kostovski, in his address, emphasized the challenges that lie ahead of them in the future, and stressed that they are expected build strong interpersonal relationships in a disciplined manner. NATO Liaison Office Skopje was represented by the NAT Advisors, Lieutenant Colonels Marijan Ivanusa and Antonios Kogias, who attended the ceremony, along the Deputy Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Naser Sejdini, and other distinguished guests, representatives of the MoD, ARM and the local community.
