Sept. 2, 2014 the Chief of the NLO Skopje, Captain (N) Rumen Radev, participated in the "Future NATO – Challenges and Expectations”, conference organized by the European Atlantic Council of Macedonia (EACM). This event took place at the Army Hall in Skopje and was opened by Mr. Ismet Ramadani, the President of EACM. At this conference, Mr. Charles Garrett Ambassador to the UK and Mr. Paul D. Wohlers Ambassador to the USA were also invited.
In this event the Chief NLO Skopje addressed the participants, first speaking about the NATO Summit in Cardiff, focusing on the broad themes from the NATO Summit Overview - (NATO's engagement in Afghanistan, the Russia-Ukraine security situation, NATO transatlantic link).
He stressed NATO's critical capabilities, which are being developed and are necessary to deter and defend against any threat. He also elaborated on the Connected Forces Initiative, meant to improve interoperability among Allied forces. At the end Captain (N) Radev underlined what is expected by the HN and that the national efforts in the political and military sphere are in the right way and compatible with the standards of EU and NATO.
