Maj. Gen. Gunner Lange

 
Major General Gunnar Lange was born in Haderslev, Denmark in 1943.
He entered the Danish Army in 1963. In the years 1964 - 1967 he attended the Royal Danish Military Academy in Copenhagen. From 1967 to 1972 he was a Deputy commander in a Cavalry Squadron at Jutland Dragoons Regiment. From 1977 to 1978 he attended the General Staff Officer Course at the Danish Defence College in Copenhagen.

Staff officer in Headquarters Chief of Defence Denmark, Copenhagen;
Staff officer in Headquarters Allied Forces Northern Europe, Brunsum;
Branch Chief, Jutland Division, Fredericia;
Division Chief in Headquarters Chief of Defence, Copenhagen;
Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics and Manpower Division, SHAPE, Mons;
Director for Partnership for Peace Coordination Cell, Mons.
SHAPE Coordinator NATO Long Term Study Manpower Study, Mons;
General Lange has commanded:
The 2nd Recce Squadron, 5th Recce Battalion at Jutland Dragoons Regiment, Holstebro;
The 2nd Armoured Battalion at Jutland Dragoons Regiment, Holstebro;
Danish Division, Fredericia.

In 1992 General Lange was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and appointed Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics and Manpower Division, SHAPE.
In 1994 he was promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed Director for Partnership for Peace Co-ordination Cell, Mons. 
In 1998 General Lange took up his present position as Commander, Danish Division, Fredericia.
In May 2001 General Lange was appointed NATO Senior Military Representative to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*. 
On 4th of October 2001 General Lange became Commander of AMBER FOX Headquarters in Skopje, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*.
 
Major Awards and Decorations
Commander of the Order of Dannebroge, 1st Degree;
Polish Armed Forces Medal in gold
Medal for good service in the Army; 
Badge of Honour of the Danish Reserve Officers Association.
