NLO Skopje meets with newly appointed Chief of the General Staff of the army
SKOPJE, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia* - On Sept. 4, NATO Liaison Office Skopje held a working meeting with the newly appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia regarding further coordinating and intensifying the cooperation.
NLO Skopje, led by Slovenian Navy Captain Gorazd Bartol, and his staff gave a brief presentation about its roles and responsibilities and explained in details how it can provide more support to the army.
Also at the meeting, the Sergeant Major of the Army and the Chief of the International Cooperation section were present. The discussion entailed the current joint activities and utilizing the possibilities that NLO Skopje can offer in attaining its advisory role during accession talks for full-fledged membership in NATO.
Major General Gjurchinovski stressed the positive aspects of the mutual direct coordination with NLO Skopje which contributes to more effective implementation of the reforms processes in the Army.
The meeting ended with the continuing cooperation between NLO Skopje and the army of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in supporting the reforms.
*Turkey recognizes the Republic of Macedonia with its constitutional name.
