NATO Secretary General visits former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

SKOPJE, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia* - The NATO Secretary General paid an official visit to the former Yugoslav of Republic of Macedonia on Jan. 17, to meet with leading officials.

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg began his official visit by meeting with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and other leading officials in the country for an evening meal. Stoltenberg expressed his gratitude to his hosts for the hospitality and highlighted that it is a great opportunity for him to show NATO’s support to the country.

The visit continued the next day with meetings with President Ivanov, Prime Minister Zaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitrov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Radmila Šekerinska, with the President of the Parliament Talat Xhaferi, and other high level officials. The Secretary General also addressed the Parliament and met with members of the opposition.
