The chief of NATO Liaison Office Skopje, Slovenian Navy Capt. Gorazd Bartol, met with Zoran Zaev from the Social Democratic Party (SDSM), April 4, 2017.
Both Zaev, the leader of the second in number of parliamentary seats political party, and the NATO represantative to the country discussed issues of the reform processes towards NATO and EU membership, as well as matters regarding the process of establishing a new government.
During the meeting, Zaev stressed that NATO membership will be a priority of the new government. He added that the focus on Euro-Atlantic perspectives will provide stabilization of the country, economic prosperity and realistic foreign investments, which will lead to citizens' higher living standards. He reiterated that he stands for a unitary state and one society for all citizens.
While expressing his congratulations for NATO's anniversary on April 4, Zaev said the democratic developments are of great importance and the country is expected to stay on that path.
In the near future, the Chief of NLO Skopje will continue with the sequence of meetings with political leaders.
