NATO HQ Sarajevo Deputy Commander visits BiH Armed Forces prospective locations


SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina - NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Deputy Commander, Colonel Petter Gjersem, visited five prospective locations of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Armed Forces, Oct. 5. The locations were the municipality of Živinice as well as the cities of Tuzla, Doboj and Banja Luka.
 
Working meetings with commanders of commands and units stationed at those locations were also held.
 
The visit started with "Dubrave” Barracks and Airfield in the Municipality of Živinice followed by the "Kozlovac” Storage Site in the City of Tuzla. Gjersem and his staff received briefings and discussed issues pertaining to the functioning of the 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Inf. Regiment, and units guarding the storage site.
 
Gjersem’s visit continued with meetings in "Vojvoda Radomir Putnik” Barracks and the "3. maj” Barracks in Doboj. During those visits, Gjersem and his staff addressed issues relevant to the Headquarters of the Logistics Command.
 
The final stage of the visit was within the "Kozara” Barracks in Banja Luka. Gjersem held working meetings with Maj. Gen. Husein Tursunović, commander of the Support Command, and Brig. Gen. Radovan Ilić, commander of the 6th Inf. Brig. During the visits and working meetings, Gjersem and his staff addressed a number of issues such as public procurement for AFBiH, resolving the surplus of movable defense property, manning, infrastructure, logistics and issues of prospective immovable defense property.
