NATO assists in developing BiH legal framework

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina - NATO Headquarters Sarajevo (NHQSa) is holding its 20th Regulations Drafting Workshop from the 23rd to the 27th March 2015. The GBR Embassy is providing financial and technical assistance while NHQSa provides legal support in drafting necessary regulations.

Over 40 Legal and technical experts from BiH Ministry of Defence, BiH Armed Forces, NHQSa,  the Embassy of the United Kingdom, EUFOR and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) are working together on drafting nine regulations on the agenda. These regulations are governing issues of manning, resourcing, disposal of surplus AWE (Ammunition Weapons Explosives) and security/intelligence.

Regulations drafting workshops organized and managed by NHQSa since 2006 have produced over 100 key regulations, instructions, SOPs and other legally binding documents governing key aspects of defence and security sector reform in BiH.

NHQSa will continue to provide legal and technical advice to the BiH Ministry of Defense in developing the legal framework required for the defence structure in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
