In a joint 3-day activity, the BiH MoD, AFBiH and NHQSa have identified and marked the new borders of 3 prospective immovable defence properties, including a radar location that is earmarked as a potential Balkan Regional Approach to Air Defence (BRAAD) location for BiH. Surveying these locations required additional efforts considering the difficult terrain and large area of millions of square metres that these locations previously covered.

 

Experts from BiH MoD, AFBiH and NHQSa have identified areas that are required for the functioning of these military installations but that are also legally and technically possible to register in line with the MAP condition. All 3 of these properties have been downsized from the original area of millions of square metres to a few hundred thousand square metres. The work done on these 3 properties is just one part of the overall process of legal and technical activities pertaining to 63 prospective immovable defence properties.

 

NHQSa continues to provide legal and technical assistance to the BiH Ministry of Defence in their efforts to register 63 prospective immovable defence properties as the ownership of the State of Bosnia and Hercegovina and for usage right of the BiH Ministry of Defence.
