NHQSa Deputy Commander Olcay Denier visited AFBIH Demining Site

There are an estimated 80,000 landmines and other 'explosive remnants of war' scattered across BiH. The difficult, dangerous and time consuming task of clearing them falls, in large part, to the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team of the AFBIH.

Recent landslides on the mountains outside Sarajevo had uncovered a number of landmines and caused them to move onto popular hiking trails. The team cleared the area to make it safe. NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Deputy Commander Olcay Denier, visited the team today to find out more about the challenges they face and thank the team for their work to make everyone in BiH safer.
