NHQSa commander, General Folkestad, met with the ambassadors of the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia in BIH.

People often don't realise that NATO is a diplomatic organisation. Its aim is to prevent conflict and guarantee security.

Our Commander works constantly with the diplomatic community in BiH, and Brussels, to co-ordinate support and advice to the authorities in BiH. This includes regularly meeting Ambassadors, such as those from the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.

These nations are also former adversaries who joined NATO after the end of the Cold War, and – although they chose to become members – can all testify to the important benefits that implementing NATO standards had on the whole country and all of their citizens.
