NATO Headquaters Sarajevo was honoured to host General Christopher Cavoli, Commander US Army Europe and Africa. The General was in Sarajevo ahead of Exercise IMMEDIATE RESPONSE, the largest military exercise ever held by BiH, which will take place in Manjača.

IMMEDIATE RESPONSE is part of the multi-national DEFENDER-Europe 21 exercise taking place across Europe this summer designed to test and improve the extensive military capabilities that NATO allies and partners have to prevent conflict, preserve peace and keep our nations safe.

A team of advisors from NATO Headquarters Sarajevo have been working with the AFBiH to prepare for this, and Exercise DYNAMIC REPONSE – a smaller scale AFBiH exercise which will take place after IMMEDIATE REPONSE has concluded.

As well as discussing the exercise with General Cavoli, Brigadier General Folkestad briefed him on the NATO Mission and support for the authorities, including the armed forces, in BiH.
