Today, NATO HQ Sarajevo Commander Brigadier General Eric Folkestad and Head of the U.S. Embassy Office of Defense Cooperation Major Taib Grozdanic delivered a valuable donation to the Bihac Cantonal Hospital Dr. Irfan Ljubijankic.
I am delighted that NATO is able to support the local hospital staff, here in Bihac, who are on the front-line in the fight against COVID. When our allies and partners ask for our help, NATO is there: bringing the resources and capabilities of 30 nations to help our friends resolve problems and overcome security challenges
General Folkestad stated during today’s handover ceremony.

Major Grozdanić emphasized that "Today's donation is just one of many COVID-19 Humanitarian Assistance donations that the United States, in its capacity as a NATO Ally, donated throughout BIH since the start of the pandemic. These donations show that the
Alliance will always stand by its partner, Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the hardest of times".
This assistance will help medical personnel provide the best care for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina during these challenging times. This is just one of several donations that the United States and other NATO allies have made to the citizens of BIH since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The NATO Alliance will continue to actively support Bosnia and Herzegovina, including during difficult times like these.
In BiH and around the world, NATO allies and partners continue to support each other during this pandemic. Since the beginning of the crisis, the United States and NATO Allies have donated tons of supplies in numerous deliveries of assistance in response to the
request BiH submitted to the NATO Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center.
