Commission for Cooperation with NATO plays an instrumental role in BiH NATO partnership

NHQSa Commander, Brigadier General Pamela McGaha met today with the members of BiH Commission for Cooperation with NATO, expressing continued NATO HQ Sarajevo support to the work of the Commission through the existing partnership mechanisms, to include the Reform Program, which provides the political framework for cooperation between NATO and BiH.

During the recent visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, 31 Allied Ambassadors representing North Atlanic Council reaffirmed NATO’s commitment to BiH, to its sovereignty and right to determine its own security arrangements, while all BiH counterparts expressed committment to mutually-beneficial partnership with NATO, in which Bosnia and Herzegovina is choosing individual reform activities that best fit BiH ambitions and security needs.

As the primary communication and coordination mechanism between actors in BiH on NATO-related matters, BiH Commission for Cooperation with NATO (CCN) plays an instrumental role in this partnership.

During the day, Brigadier General McGaha also met with the newly appointed Chief of Joint Staff of BiH Armed Forces, Major General Gojko Knežević.

She thanked BiH Armed Forces leadership for successful North Atlantic Council delegation visit to Rajlovac barracks last week, and confirmed NATO HQ Sarajevo commitment to partnering with BiH Ministry of Defense and AFBiH in further development of Defence Capacity Building Projects, and the ongoing partnership activities between NATO and BiH.
