NATO Resilience Advisory Support Team visits BiH

NATO Resilience Advisory Support Team (RAST) experts from Allied countries are visiting BiH this week, at the request of BiH authorities. Focused on individual and collective capacity of countries for civil preparedness, the visit is another demonstration of NATO support to BiH, following the 2022 NATO Summit, when Allies agreed a set of additional political and practical measures to support BiH in strengthening its resilience.

Presence of our team in BiH is one of the concrete examples of NATO’s determination to deliver on this important commitment to support Bosnia and Herzegovina

stated Khan Jahier, NATO RAST Lead on Resilience and Civil Protection.

Within the agreed areas of support and partnership with the Alliance, “RAST will come up with the findings and recommendations that will inform the development of the Reform Program and the implementation of NATO Defense Capacity Building package for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Jahier added.

The workshop is bringing together lead representatives of State, Entity and Brcko District institutions and agencies working in the field of security, defense and foreign trade and economic relations, with focus on crisis management, critical infrastructure resilience, to include energy resilience, and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) incident preparedness.
