During his first official visit to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and NATO HQ Brussels this week, BG Matthew A. Valas is meeting with a range of NATO top military and political leaders, emphasizing the Alliance’s long-standing political dialogue and practical cooperation with BiH.

Engagements have included meetings with the NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe GEN Christopher G. Cavoli; NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation; LGEN Andrew Rohling, Deputy Chair of the NATO Military Committee; Mr. Tom Goffus, NATO ASG Operations; Ms Marie – Doha Besancenot, NATO ASG for Public Diplomacy, and a range of other NATO officials, committed to supporting our partnership with BiH – insert flag – to include defence capacity building and defence & security governance, rooted in our shared democratic values.

During the trip, BG Valas also visited the BiH Delegation to NATO, where he met with BiH Ambassador to NATO H.E. Vanja Filipovic, and BiH Military Representative to NATO, Colonel Edin Fako, emphasizing the NATO Secretary General’s message that: 

The Alliance stands ready to continue political dialogue and strengthen practical cooperation with BiH,

for the benefit of all BiH citizens.
