NATO Commander Brigadier General Pamela McGaha presided over the formal assumption of responsibility ceremony that took place in Camp Butmir this week.
Command Sergeant Major Gregory Slater (United States Army) assumed the role of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Command Sergeant Major.
During the ceremony, BG Pamela McGaha welcomed CSM Slater, emphasizing the value that is placed on non-commissioned officers, who are often referred to as the ‘back bone’ of Allied militaries. NCOs provide a constant source of purpose, motivation, direction, inspiration and discipline to all those around them, and the Command Sergeant Major epitomizes the leadership qualities of this important group.
In CSM Slater, NHQSa has gained a capable leader and trusted advisor. And AFBIH
have gained a highly experienced partner and a dedicated friend.
