Meeting on the legal amendments proposal in the AFBiH

On 20th January, 2022, senior representatives of the BiH MoD and AFBiH met at the Army Hall to discuss the draft amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances in BiH institutions and the Decision of the BiH Council of Ministers on special allowances to salaries for professional military personnel (PMP).

Earlier, a special working group has conducted analysis of the current implementation of the Law on Salaries and Allowances in BiH institutions and the Decision of the BiH Council of Ministers on special allowances to salaries for PMP in the MoD and AFBiH.  The WG proposed amendments with the aim of improving and harmonizing entitlements to allowances.

During the meeting, Deputy Chief of the AFBiH JS for Operations MG Ivica Jerkić briefed on the Analysis and proposals of amendments of the above referenced regulations. He underlined that Article 15 of the Law on Salaries and Allowances in BiH Institutions has to be amended so that, in addition to current allowances, new ones are introduced, as follows: allowance for members of declared units deployable to peace support operations and other activities abroad in line with the law, allowance for field duty exceeding 24 consecutive hours, allowance for guard duties, and allowance for specific professions in shortage in the AFBiH.

The proposals were accepted by the BiH Minister of Defense and it was concluded to proceed with their implementation. The activity was supported by the UK Embassy to BiH and NATO HQ Sarajevo. NHQSa Legal Advisor attended the meeting.
